Youthfront’s ongoing Feed the Hunger initiative is now mobilizing teams of students around Kansas City to tangibly bless God’s hurting children in Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.
As the first wave of relief comes on the ground to supply Haiti’s most urgent needs, Youthfront and our distribution partners in Haiti are preparing to send a secondary tier of aid that will more efficiently reach the most vulnerable people after the current relief efforts resolve the initial bottlenecks of distribution. These measured efforts will help to sustainably and responsibly address the continuing hunger that will persist over the next critical weeks and months.
HAITI RELIEF DETAILS
Through additional partners and support to help us send as many meals as possible to Haiti, we are able to offer the chance for you to come and package as many meals as you want for only 20 cents per meal. For a $30 donation, one student can package about 150 meals in a one hour packaging session for Haiti.
For example if a student brings a $30 donation, that student can package about 150 meals in a one hour. Since it takes about 10 people to operate a full packaging line, the total dollar amount from each group will be pooled together and distributed amongst your group to determine the total number of meals each group can package. Once all the bags that your group has paid for have been packaged, your group is done. So your group is free to bring whatever amount they can whether $5 or $100.
The youth of Kansas City are calling on their congregations to join them over the next few weeks to package thousands of meals through Youthfront’s Feed the Hunger initiative. We’re extending the invitation to you to join this movement of compassion and justice. Please join us in our goal to see Kansas City youth package 200,000 meals to send to Haiti. We will have 5 days of open packaging sessions over the next two weeks: January 23, 24, 27, 30 and 31.
